Why the Safest Browser May Be Safari

Is Safari the Safest Browser?
What is the safest browser on the Internet? Of course, everyone will have a different answer, but in my experience, the answer is Safari. On November 30, 2010, a new virus appeared on the scene and caused havoc to computers. A large company in Oklahoma City suffered computer failure for two days. My computer started to scan with a fake virus scanner followed later by other viruses that appeared out of nowhere. I did not click on anything, and I have virus protection. A writer must have computer use and the last time a computer crashed was 7 years ago. I found out later that this particular virus was so new that it was not in the database of my virus protection software. My computer started flashing signs that it could not find the hard drive.
What followed was not a very good result. We did save my files and pictures to a flash drive, the most positive action. Then, a technician tried to reinstall Windows from a disc. It worked except problems remained. He told us that the hard drive was probably failing, and that he would try to get it up and running on a temporary basis. Internet Explorer was corrupt, so he told us to use Mozilla or Safari, possibly the safest browser of all.
Then what followed was a browser redirect virus for Google and Mozilla that we could never fix. The sign in page to my bank website became corrupt with a page asking for details on my credit card, so I uninstalled Mozilla, the browser i was using at the time.. Therefore, what saved the day but Safari the great product of Apple that can also run on both McIntosh and other computers
It takes a while to get used to Safari, but it was a light at the end of the tunnel. The computer keeps working and will take us to the day that we purchase a new one because of the safest browser, Safari by Apple..
Comparison of Security of Three Common Browsers
Safari--According to infoworld.com, Safari’s pop up blocking is among the best and anti-phishing filter is the most accurate of all browsers. The downside is that the browser provides no security zones for websites. Safari fixes security problems with upgrades of the browser.
Internet Explorer 8 – Internet Explorer itself is full of security holes that Microsoft keeps patching. Internet Explorer 8 had black lines on the toolbar that are difficult to remove. This browser is adequate. In one reinstall of Windows, the browser became corrupt.
Mozilla Firefox
In December 2010, Mozilla fixed 13 security patches, some which were labeled critical. This is right after the time frame when I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox because of virus problems. The fixes were to prevent hackers and viruses from entering the system. One patch was not done previously due to a developer erring with information that it did not need the patch. I will never know if this caused my computer to almost crash. At least the browser is fixed for now.

- Mozilla patches 13 Firefox security bugs - Computerworld
Mozilla Thursday issued patches for 13 bugs, 11 of which were rated 'critical.'

Thanks for the nice comments about my hub. You sound like you are knowledgeable about computers. It seems like there are many viruses these days, unfortunately. I will look for your hubs.
Nice hub brake12 I've been happy with "Flock" for about two years now, with AVG8 free looking after the front end. So far so good, and the nicest to use, with all my sign-ons in the side bar for social networks etc.
Thank you for your comments. I would like to try Flock. I now have a new computer and am dissatisfied with IE. If you believe in Flock, it is worth my while to try it. I will look for your hubs. Thanks again.
This is a nice hub. Thank you. I am going to try Safari.
This is my second writing of my comment, But you are worth it for reading my hub, sarclair, and wanting to try Safari. Some of the settings are difficult to find in the beginning, but it has a lot of good points. Thanks for the comments, and I will sure look for your hubs.
Good article. I got myself an iMac and it has Safari and you are right, it takes a little getting used to. Good information.
Thanks for your comment. Safari really worked for me when everything else failed. I have a new computer and will be using Safari. I will look for more of your hubs.
Great hub. Knowledge is power. I will check out Safari. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for checking out my hub. Safari saved me when my computer failed. I will look for your hubs. Thanks for answering a question of mine. Good luck writing. montecristo.
Nice article,thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your kind remark. Safari is a great browser, but everyone has favorites. I love to get comments, and then I look at their hubs. I will look for your hubs. Happy writing.
I too have a Mac which I purchased because of excellent reviews by friends and colleagues, who all vouched that because the Mac has its own platform, you very rarely get a virus. It does take time getting used too because some features are so very different from what we have been used to.
However after 6 months, I am very happy with my Mac and its possibilities, even though I still have a whole lot to learn.
Great hub and congratulations on your Hub Nugget.
Thanks for reading my hub and for loving Safari. I put Safari on my new computer, but I got rid of it temporarily. I need to get it back, as I hate Internet Explorer. Thanks again for contributing to my hub on memory. That was so neat of you to do. Re Hub Nugget, I never knew I was a Hub Nugget. Please let me know about it, and you can email me. Thanks and I will look for your hubs, Cathy I.

Nice hub Brakel :)
I think the Operating system is more relevant than the Browser when it comes to protection, you`ll hardly find a nasty virus for a linux based system.
As for the most popular ( Windows and Mac) I agree with you and Safari is the best
Cheers,David
